The Wild Plum Story

The idea for "The Wild Plum" was derived from tea houses in the mountains of Austria.  There people would gather daily, share stories, and have whatever was made fresh that day. The experience was warm and friendly so it brought them back time after time. Therein lies the spirit of our little Gatlinburg tea room.  We want you to sit back, relax for a while, take in the area as it was meant to be, eat good food, maybe talk with others and enjoy our hospitality.

The "Recipes We Use" are passed down from grandmothers, aunts and uncles, fellow crafters, friends, neighbors, and the artists of our "Wild Plum Family" who start early every morning preparing our daily menu before they wait your table.  They will never forget necessity is the mother of not only invention, but creativity as well.  First we use what we have in the garden, refrigerator and pantry and secondly, what we can get that's in season and fresh!

We have the wonderful blessing of living in the beautiful Arts and Crafts Community of the Great Smoky Mountains in Gatlinburg, TN. We love being here and will continue to be here as long as you will visit and enjoy everything as much as we enjoy making it a "Plum" experience for you.
